The current version of Lotto Sorcerer for Mac OS X is v7.0.1, released Saturday, January 28, 2012.

Known issues with version 7.0.1:

Some of the Powerball settings are incorrect. To fix, use the Edit Lottery Settings function (menu item "Lottery Structure > Edit Lottery Settings"), choose your Powerball, and change the bonus number settings from "1 to 39" to "1 to 35"; then click the "Make Changes" button.
The Copy button on the Analysis tab does not work. Workaround: Highlight the text with your cursor, then use menu item "Edit > Copy".
I get a message "Unable to connect to remote server" when either clicking the Update button. This is an incorrect message. It should be saying that you are not a current subscriber to our optional Lottery Data Subscription Service.
"Error Type '06' in module '087'": this is caused by a corruption in the database. We are working to track down the cause. We believe it is caused by a corruption in the download of the program itself because of heavy downloads. We have since added a secondary download server. In the meantime, here is the fix:
1. Quit Lotto Sorcerer, if you have it running.
2. Delete the database (named "LS7_DATABASE", in your "Database" folder, in your "Lotto Sorcerer v7 Files" folder, in your "Documents" folder).
3. Restart your computer.
4. Restart Lotto Sorcerer v7. It will recreate a new, blank database.
Problems downloading Lotto Sorcerer v7. This is actually an issue with the download process, not Lotto Sorcerer itself. We did not anticipate the demand of Lotto Sorcerer v7, and the heavy download demand is causing corrupted files. We have added a secondary link on our download page. Q: Euromillions changed the parameters to the lottery. It is now drawn on both Tuesdays and Fridays (instead of Fridays only), and the bonus balls have changed from 1 to 9 to 1 to 11. How can I change this in Lotto Sorcerer?

A: To update Euromillions, use Lotto Sorcerer's Edit Lottery function (menu item "Lottery Structure > Edit Lottery"). When the Edit Lottery window opens, just choose Euromillions, click on the Tuesday checkbox to mark it, and change the bonus numbers from "1 to 9" to "1 to 11"

Locking Up
Q: Lotto Sorcerer locks up (the progress bar stops moving) during the suggestion generation process! (Windows only)
A: Lotto Sorcerer is actually still running; just the progress bar has stopped moving. Give it time, and it will display the suggestions.

Crashing
Q: Lotto Sorcerer keeps crashing (or gives an error code) during the suggestion generation process! (Windows only)
A: Try entering more past drawings in the lottery database (even more than Lotto Sorcerer recommends). If this is not possible, try lowering the Neural Depth slider.

Suggestions are All Zeros ("00")
Q: All of the suggestions generated are all zeros; for example, "00-00-00-00-00-00".
A: Run the function Check Database (menu item "Utilities > Database Maintenance > Check Database"). For version 6.30 (and up), it will find (and automatically repair) many issues based on a lottery not setup properly or invalid data (common causes of issues).

Program Error when Generating Wheeled Suggestions
Q: When I try to generate wheeled suggestions, I get a program error.
A: The wheel table has become corrupted. Use Lotto Sorcerer's menu item "Utilities > Wheels > Rebuild Wheel Table" to fix this.

Date Missing Day Name (Mac OS X)
Q: The main window used to show the day of the week in the past drawing grid. Now it just shows the date. When will this bug be fixed? (Mac OS X only)
A: This is not a bug, it is a new feature in System Preferences (Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.7 on up). Lotto Sorcerer uses the Medium Date datatype, which, previously, was set as a static string.

To bring back the "day of the week" feature: Open System Preferences; Choose "International"; when the International window opens, choose the "Formats" tab, then click the "Customize" button under the "Dates" section. Choose "Medium"; then drag the "Day of Week" date element to the box at the top of the window.

AVG Antivirus Reports Trojan Horse (Windows)
Q: My anti-virus software (AVG) reports that there is a trojan horse inside the Lotto Sorcerer executable. (Windows only)
A: AVG is notorious for giving "false positives": Google "AVG false positives" and you will see over a half-million links! With all due respect to AVG, a free program, the old adage "you get what you pay for" applies. In our defense, we compile all binaries with rock-solid, iron-clad, Unix-based Mac OS X. We check our files with updated Symantec Norton AntiVirus 2007. It reports our files are "free from viruses, spyware and other risks". Furthermore, Lotto Sorcerer has been awarded Softpedia's "100% Clean" Award, which states that "'Lotto Sorcerer has been tested by the Softpedia labs and found to be completely clean of adware/spyware components." Plus, Download 3k has awarded Lotto Sorcerer with a "Clean" award, after having run our program through a gauntlet of multiple anti-virus programs.
